Indian-origin businessman Rakesh Kamal murdered wife, daughter in US and then killed himself, reveals autopsy
The deaths of a wealthy Indian-origin couple and their daughter in the US last week have been ruled as murder-suicide, as per medical authorities who conducted his autopsy.
An autopsy indicates that the father and husband of the home, Rakesh Kamal, 57, shot his wife, Teena Kamal, 54, and his daughter, Arianna Kamal, 18, before turning the pistol on himself, according to findings from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for Massachusetts, reported Boston Herald.
A final autopsy report should be completed in the coming weeks, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s office.
Rakesh Kamal did not have a license nor registration for the .40 caliber Glock 22 found near his body at the crime scene at 8 Wilson’s Way, a private street in Dover, the newspaper reported.
According to reports, the family was facing financial problems in recent times.
The family’s sprawling mansion went into foreclosure a year ago and was sold to the Massachusetts-based Wilsondale Associates LLC for $3 million, according to property records obtained by The New York Post.
The slain family members were the only ones living in the mansion at the time, the DA said, adding that the area, one of the richest in the state, was “a nice neighborhood, a safe community.”
Teena and her husband previously ran a Massachusetts-based education systems company called EduNova.
According to reports, the company, which started its journey in 2016, was dissolved in 2021.
Teena was a Harvard alumnus.
She was reportedly listed as one of the board of directors for the American Red Cross of Massachusetts.
Meanwhile, the couple’s daughter was a student at Middlebury College.
