Two quacks, out of the four, who performed surgery on a female patient at a private hospital in Pakistan's Bahawalnagar three days ago, have been arrested.
The FIR registered on the complaint of the deputy district health officer with B-Division police on July 24 stated that during a visit to Zubaida Naik Hospital, Hussainabad Chowk, the health department team found a number of patients in different rooms who had undergone C-sections, reported Dawn News.
The team found four persons, who were dressed in doctor's uniform were performing operation on a patient.
They failed to produce their licences or certificates.
They said the owner of the hospital hired them to perform operations.
The FIR mentioned no qualified doctor was appointed in the hospital.
A case was filed against five people, including the owner of the hospital Aslam Hayat.
Hayat fled from the hospital.
Two of them have been arrested.
Sources told Dawn News that the illegal hospital had been sealed and all the patients were shifted to the DHQ hospital by Rescue 1122.
The sources told the newspaper that the hospital had been operational for about 15 years and it had been raided and sealed several times by the health department in the past but it would get desealed after paying a small fine.
A senior health official posted at the DHQ told Dawn there were dozens of private hospitals across the district, including Bahawalnagar, Minchinabad, Fort Abbas, Chishtian, and Haroonabad, which had no qualified doctors.
