Pakistan's key opposition PTI to protest high power bills after Ramdan
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Central Punjab general secretary Hammad Azhar has indicated that the party leaders, workers and supporters will participate in street protests in the upcoming days following Ramadan to highlight high electricity bills and other public matters.
“This unelected government will not survive the summers,” he told Dawn News.
He posted on X: "This frail, unelected & hated govt will not survive the summers. Post Ramzan the lawyers, civil society & PTI will be on streets. Unbelievably high electricity bills & pending IMF price adjustments due to 2 years of PDM incompetence will spell the end of form 47 circus."
Customers might find their pockets burning in the Ramadam season and upcoming Eid season as petrol prices in Pakistan may skyrocket to touch Rs. 290 per litre soon.
The price of petrol may go up by Rs10-11 per litre on Sunday (March 31) for the next fortnight.
Experts are blaming higher import premiums and global prices for the rise in price.
However, the price of another key fuel, high-speed diesel (HSD), is likely to drop by up to Rs2 per litre, reported Dawn News.
