Teenager stabs students in London high school shouting 'Allahu Akbar', now charged with 'attempted murder'

The violent episode unfolded on Tuesday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the school community and prompting a swift police response.

Two pupils stabbed

The victims, aged 12 and 13, were rushed to the hospital after being stabbed during the incident.

Initial reports suggested their injuries were serious.

However, the Metropolitan Police confirmed on Wednesday that both boys are now in a stable condition and their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect, who cannot be identified due to his age, has been formally charged with two counts of attempted murder.

In addition, he faces charges of possessing a knife on school premises and using a noxious substance — reportedly insect spray — on a third child during the same incident.

According to reports, the teenager shouted "Allahu Akbar" while stabbing the pupils.

Arrest following rapid police response

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at approximately 12:40 pm local time on Tuesday.

Officers responded to the school and began investigations immediately.

Police later confirmed that the suspect was arrested in the local area at around 4:15 pm the same day.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Youth Court later today.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.

School calls incident ‘deeply traumatic’

In a letter addressed to parents and guardians, the head teacher described the episode as a “deeply traumatic event for the whole school community.”

Kingsbury High School is one of the larger secondary schools in the area, with 1,997 pupils enrolled, according to the Department for Education.

The institution operates across two nearby sites, accommodating upper and lower school students as well as a sixth form.

The incident has reignited concerns around youth violence and knife crime in London schools, with community members expressing shock that such a serious event could occur within school grounds.

Court appearance scheduled

The 13-year-old defendant will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Youth Court, where proceedings will be conducted under strict legal protections given his age.

Police investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence surrounding the circumstances of the attack.
