Texas mass shooting: Police searching for gunman who killed 5 people, including 8-yr-old
Washington: Cops are looking for a shooter, who allegedly gunned down five Hondurans, including a child aged eight, at a house in Texas in another mass shooting incident in the United States, the local sheriff confirmed on Saturday, media reports said.
According to the US media reports, investigators suspect that the shooter had been firing his AR-15 style gun in a nearby yard when the victims requested him to stop as they were trying to put a baby to sleep.
San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers described that the authorities came across a gory site when they reached the crime spot following a call of “harassment” by the victims around 11:30pm Friday.
The bodies of the victims, aged from eight to 40 years old, were lying on the floor from the front door through the house to an inside bedroom.
The bodies of the two women were found lying on top of two children, who survived the massacre.
Capers told ABC's Houston station KTRK that the two women were trying to protect the children.
Sheriff Capers said that all the victims, including an eight-year-old child, were from Honduras and there were 10 people in the house during the shooting.
He added that the authorities believe the gunman is from Mexico and they know his identity.
The shooter is believed to have left the county, and residents have been advised to stay indoors until he is caught, reported KTRK.
