AAP MP Swati Maliwal reacts to Delhi Lt. Guv's sacking of 223 women's commission employees
New Delhi/IBNS: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal has strongly reacted to the sacking of 223 Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) employees by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena who made a major crackdown against the city government, media reports said.
Maliwal, the former DCW chairperson, "LG sahab has issued a Tughlaqi order to remove all the contract staff of DCW. Today, the Women's Commission has a total staff of 90 out of which only 8 people have been provided by the government, the rest are on 3-month contracts. If all the contract staff is removed, the Women's Commission will be locked. Why are these people doing this?
"This institution has been built with blood and sweat. Instead of appointing staff and giving protection, you are destroying it from its roots? I will not let the Women's Commission be closed as long as I am alive. Put me in jail, don't torture women!"

It is alleged that former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal made those appointments violating rules.
The Lieutenant Governor's office claims 223 new posts were created without the approval of the LG while it has a sanctioned strength of 40 posts.
"Further, the enhancement of the remuneration and allowances to the staff of DCW was without adequate justification and in violation of the laid down procedures and guidelines," a probe said as quoted by NDTV.
Both the AAP and Maliwal are yet to respond to the allegations.
The major step is likely to trigger a fresh faceoff between the LG and the government, which were at the loggerheads in various administrative decisions related to the national capital.
The latest development in Delhi comes a couple of months after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in jail in connection to the liquor policy scam.
