'Adipurush insults Shri Ram and Hanuman, should be banned: Congress leader Nana Patole
Mumbai/IBNS: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole Monday demanded a ban on the film 'Adipurush', alleging it has insulted Lord Ram and Hanuman.
Speaking to the media at state Congress headquarters Tilak Bhavan here, he alleged that Ram and Hanuman have been insulted in the movie.
"Those who have insulted Lord Ram and Hanuman should apologise to the public. The film should be banned," he said.
Lambasting the BJP, he said the saffron party loudly claims that it is running a pro-Hindutva government at the Centre, but when there is a movie that insults Lord Ram and Hanuman, the saffron party keeps mum.
The character of Hanuman utters slang in the film. "How was this film cleared, was the censor board sleeping?" he asked.
