Arijit Singh's consciousness arises only for Bengal: TMC after singer releases song for RG Kar
Kolkata/IBNS: Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh on Friday slammed leading Bollywood singer Arijit Singh for his alleged selective criticism after he released a song demanding justice for the 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
Arijit, who is from West Bengal, has released a song- Aar Kobe- crying for justice in the rape-murder case that shook the country, ignited public fury and brought the state administration under scanner over its alleged cover-up.

Ghosh, who is at the forefront of defending the ruling TMC, posted on X, "Arijit Singh is a wonderful singer. He is also a good human being. His song demanding justice for Tilottama is justified, I support it.
"But the problem with Arijit is his consciousness grows only for Bengal. He never releases songs for other incidents like the one that happened in Maharashtra's Badlapur or for Sakshi Malik because he primarily works there. His work, money, and career are associated with the Hindi industry."
Arijit had earlier faced flak for not publicly criticising the rape-murder incident when almost the entire Bengali film, TV and music personalities including the ones who are associated with the ruling party took to streets and actively protested against the incident.
Arijit's song questions when will the rape culture end demanding justice.
Though the RG Kar case is now being probed by the CBI, the state administration is facing public anger over its slow progress in the case until it was handed over to the premier investigating agency under the central government.
One person, a civic volunteer, has been arrested in connection with the case but protesting students as well as the victim's parents suspect more people are involved in the case.
