On August 13, Delhi Police registered a case against the accused, who works as deputy director in the Women and Child Development department of the Delhi government, under relevant sections at Burari Police Station on the basis of a complaint from a minor girl, police said earlier.
The girl alleged that she was repeatedly raped by the official under whose care and guardianship she was staying at his house, police said.
On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered the suspension of this official and sought a report on the matter from the Chief Secretary.
The Delhi Commission for Women issued notices to the Delhi Police and Delhi government on Monday over an alleged sexual assault with a girl by a Delhi government official.
