Assam Rice Research Institute wins 'Best Centre' award for All India Coordinated Rice Research Project 2022-23
The Assam Rice Research Institute (ARRI), formerly known as the Regional Agriculture Research Station at Titabar under Assam Agricultural University, has been awarded the title of "Best Centre" by the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Rice for the year 2022-23.
During the closing ceremony of the two-day 58th Annual Rice Group Meeting, held at the Dr. MC Das Memorial Auditorium on the AAU Jorhat campus, the Director of ICAR - Indian Institute of Rice Research, Dr. RM Sundaram, presented the Best Centre award for the year 2022-23 to Dr. Sanjay Kumar Chetia, Chief Scientist of ARRI, reported The Hills Times.
The ceremony, where Dr. Sanjay Kumar Chetia received the Best Centre award for ARRI, was attended by esteemed guests, including ADG (FFC) ICAR, Dr. S.K. Pradhan, and the Director of ICAR - National Rice Research Institute, AK Nayak.
The event was well-attended by more than 300 agri scientists, researchers, and agripreneurs from different parts of the country, who are actively involved in rice research.
ARRI is renowned for its extensive research on rice cultivation, has been recognized for its outstanding contribution to the development of the rice industry in the country.
