BJP and Asaduddin Owaisi 'Ram and Shyam ki jodi': Sanjay Raut counters AIMIM leader's barb
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has called Asaduddin Owaisi and BJP, "Ram and Shyam ki jodi”, countering the AIMIM leader’s comment on Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde.
On Saturday, Owaisi drew a parallel between Thackeray and Shinde, calling the two arch rivals “Ram aur Shyam ki jodi”, in a rally in Maharashtra’s Thane.
He also slammed Shiv Sena and NCP for promoting dynastic politics. Owaisi went on to question if certain people could become top leaders for being the children of their powerful parents and also individuals like Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde could lead the state, why couldn’t the Muslims of Maharashtra be like them?
"When NCP's Ajit Pawar, and Supriya Sule can become leaders, Uddhav Thackeray can become a leader solely on the virtue of being his father's son, Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis can become leaders, can't Maharashtra's Muslims be like Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde?" Owaisi was quoted as saying by ANI.
In response to Owaisi’s assertion that Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde weren’t different from each other, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said Owaisi and BJP are "Ram and Shyam ki jodi”.
He also said Veer Savarkar is a legend of Maharashtra and demanded that the Central government should confer Bharat Ratna on the "brave son" of the state.
