BJP arrested Arvind Kejriwal out of fear of losing LS polls, says AAP
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Dilip Pandey on Monday criticised the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) over the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asserting that they (BJP) arrested him out of fear of losing the Lok Sabha election.
“Interrogation was never their (BJP’s) purpose; they always wanted to stop Arvind Kejriwal from the election campaigning,“ Pandey said, adding that BJP wanted to break the INDIA bloc.
His remarks came after the Delhi Court today sent the AAP convener to judicial custody till April 15.
The AAP leader accused the BJP of breaking the INDIA bloc and destabilising government in Delhi and Punjab.
"The entire country is watching how Delhi Police, ED, CBI, and IT are all working on the instructions of BJP. Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to judicial custody and it was not opposed by ED, it shows that interrogation was not the purpose. The purpose was to arrest Arvind Kejriwal just before the Lok Sabha elections and break the INDIA alliance,” Pandey said.
“The revelations made in the Vidhan Sabha regarding Operation Lotus prove that if there is a threat to democracy in India, it is only from the BJP. Attempts to destabilize democracy in Punjab and Delhi are still going on,” he said.
“An unsuccessful attempt is being made to break the MLAs of Delhi,” Pandey said alleging that BJP said you kept screaming and we arrested Arvind Kejriwal without any proof, we will push Delhi towards President's rule and then we will break the party.”
“But the BJP leaders again forgot that Arvind Kejriwal's soldiers are disciples of Bhagat Singh. They will continue to fulfill the pledge of serving Delhi that they have taken with Arvind Kejriwal under the guidance of the CM,” he added.
