After the final round of counting, Panda had secured 1,49,666 votes, leading by nearly one lakh votes over his nearest rival, Sambhu Nath Kurmi of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), who polled 40645 votes.
Abdur Razzak Molla of the Indian National Congress stood third with 10084 votes, while former TMC candidate Jahangir Khan ended fourth in the contest with 7783 vites, despite dramatically withdrawing from the contest citing personal reasons.
Counting began at 8 am on Sunday, with the final result expected later in the evening.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari took a swipe at the TMC’s once-vaunted “Diamond Harbour model” following BJP’s dominant performance.
Taking to X, Adhikari wrote: “The notorious ‘Diamond Harbour’ model has turned into the ‘Trinamool’s Loss-Bar’ model.”

He hailed the Falta electorate for what he described as a historic mandate and vowed accelerated development for the constituency.
"I bow my head in gratitude to the people of Falta for this resounding mandate. I had appealed for a BJP victory margin of one lakh votes, and that margin has crossed one lakh eight thousand. We will repay this trust through development. We are committed to building a golden Falta," he said.
Launching a scathing attack on the TMC, Adhikari alleged that the party had become “a mafia company devoid of principles and ideology,” accusing it of abusing state machinery, looting public funds, and running extortion networks through syndicates and intimidation.
"This is just the beginning. The Trinamool Congress leadership will soon face an even tougher challenge against NOTA in future elections," he added.
"Pushpa Raj has ended, now common people will rule Falta and there will be development in the state."

Reacting to his massive lead, Panda mocked both Jahangir Khan and the TMC, saying: "Pushpa Raj is over. Now the common people will rule Falta."
"Falta will witness real development in the days ahead," he added.
Why was the repoll ordered?
The Election Commission of India had ordered a repoll in select booths of the constituency after opposition parties alleged widespread irregularities during the original polling process.
Complaints included allegations of voter intimidation, obstruction near polling stations, and procedural lapses. Following a review of reports from polling officials and observers, the Commission directed fresh polling to ensure a free and fair electoral process.
Jahangir Khan’s dramatic withdrawal
The Falta contest took a dramatic turn when Jahangir Khan announced his withdrawal from the race on Tuesday, despite the official deadline for withdrawal having passed.
A close aide of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Khan claimed he was stepping aside after being assured by Chief Minister Adhikari of a special development package for Falta.
"I have always dreamt of a prosperous Falta. Since the Chief Minister has promised a special package for the constituency, I have decided to withdraw from the repoll," Khan had said.
Social media mockery and ‘Pushpa’ jibes
Khan’s exit triggered widespread mockery on social media, with users ridiculing his earlier self-comparison to Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun in the blockbuster Pushpa franchise.
The reference resurfaced after senior IPS officer Ajay Pal Sharma—popularly dubbed “UP’s Singham”—had publicly warned Khan against allegedly intimidating voters during campaigning.
Opposition targets ‘Diamond Harbour Model’
The BJP and other opposition parties also used Khan’s withdrawal to target the so-called “Diamond Harbour Model” often championed by Abhishek Banerjee.
They questioned Banerjee’s absence from active campaigning during the repoll despite his earlier challenge to political opponents to defeat the TMC in the constituency.
The TMC, however, distanced itself from Khan’s move, maintaining that his withdrawal was purely a “personal decision.”
