Congress disagrees with Digvijaya Singh's surgical strike proof remark: Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi/IBNS: Facing criticism from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress MP and top leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said his colleague Digvijaya Singh's controversial remark on the Indian Army's surgical strike does not reflect the party's view, media reports said.
Gandhi's clarification came after the Congress faced flak over Singh's comment where he questioned the surgical strike and accused the Modi government of "peddling lies".
At a press conference amid his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu, Gandhi said, "I don't agree with what Digvijaya Singh-ji has said. We have full trust in the Army. The Army has no need to give proof of any step it takes."
"It is Digvijaya Singh's personal opinion and not the Congress party's," the Wayanad MP added.

At a rally during Bharat Jodo Yatra, Singh had said, "Pulwama has been a hotbed of terrorism and every car is checked. A Scorpio car comes from the wrong side. Why was there no checking? Then there is a collision and 40 of our jawans are killed. To date, the government has not given information about the incident in parliament or in public."
"They talk about surgical strikes - that we killed these many people. But there is no proof. They are ruling by peddling a bundle of lies," he added.
