Delhi Police team visits Parliament security breach mastermind Lalit Jha's Kolkata house, probes his Bengal contacts
Kolkata/IBNS: A three-member Delhi Police team on Tuesday visited the Kolkata residence of Parliament attack mastermind Lalit Jha to inquire about his details and connections in West Bengal, reports said.
The police team, however, found his room was locked and spoke to the house owner.
Originally a resident of Bihar's Darbhanga district. Lalit Mohan Jha, 32, is a prime accused and said to be the key handler of the four protestors who breached Parliament's security on December 13.
Jha, who is now in police custody, allegedly shared the video clips of the protest both inside and outside Parliament with some of his acquaintances in Bengal, the sources said.
A three-member Delhi Police Special team, which arrived here on Monday, also visited Jha's home in central Kolkata's Burrabazar but found the main door locked from outside.
Sources told UNI that he used to stay in the rented house and was a private tutor by profession.
Jha, who surrendered at the Kartvaya Path police post in Delhi on December 14 night, has been described by the Delhi police as the alleged “mastermind” of the security breach incident in the Lok Sabha.
Triggering panic and chaos in Lok Sabha, two men carrying smoke canisters jumped into the chamber of the Lower House from the visitors' gallery on Dec 13.
The incident coincided with the 22nd anniversary of the terrorist attack on Parliament.
Six people were involved in the planning and execution of the major security breach in Parliament.
