Fire breaks out at a metro station in Kolkata
Kolkata/UNI: Fire broke out at the busy Rabindra Sadan Metro station in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Fire brigade personnel have been pressed into service to douse the blaze, official sources said.
There has been no report of any injuries so far.
The firefighting personnel are yet to pinpoint the source of black smoke billowing from the entire two floors of the ticket counters located opposite to the iconic Exide More.
Firefighting vehicles carrying personnel wearing breathing apparatus suits and masks were trying to locate the source of the fire.
Initially, reports said the high-powered air conditioning machines might be the source of the fire.
The station was temporarily suspended, and commuters were asked to avoid using Rabindra Sadan station.
