India became the largest country in digital transactions in 9 yrs: Rajeev Chandrasekhar
New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday said in the last 9 years, India has become the world's largest country in digital transactions.
Addressing a press conference here at party headquarters, over the completion of 9 years of BJP government, he said, "Through technology, Prime Minister Modi has ensured major reforms in the functioning of the government".
The Minister said, " Under PM Modi leadership, even the remotest parts of India are experiencing the empowerment through technology".
"We were the largest 'unconnected' country in 2014. And today, we are the largest 'connected' country in the world" he added.
Calling the Congress regime between 2004-2014 as "Corruption shop", he said "During that period 2G scam happened, Antriksh-Devas scam happened... Investors were leaving India and BSNL was completely destroyed in this decade."
Talking about the 5G technology he said that "we have connected 700 districts with 5G technology".
The Minister added that, "Today, India is seeing the fastest degree of 5G rollout and having a high degree of indigenous 5G components".
There is a boost of digital connectivity in the country and the vision and mission of the Government to ensure safety and security in cyberspace" he said.
Terming India as a global trusted partner for manufacturing, the Minister said, "In the manufacturing sector, we are seeing emergence of world class factories, huge investments and creation of a big number of jobs".
