INDIA bloc to sound Lok Sabha polls bugle at concluding rally of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: MPCC chief
Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole informed that leaders of INDIA bloc will be present at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra rally on March 12 and the poll bugle for Lok Sabha elections will sound off from there.
Speaking in a meeting held here on Thursday for preparation of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in presence of state in-charge Ramesh Chennithala, he said that Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, led by MP Rahul Gandhi, will enter Maharashtra from Nandurbar on March 12 and preparations for this leg of the yatra are almost complete.
The Nyay Yatra will conclude in a rally at Shivaji Park ground in Mumbai on March 17, he said.
Talking to media persons here, he said that there will be many programmes on the journey from Nandurbar to Mumbai.
The Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra is coming to the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Phule and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, he said.
"The BJP government at the Centre and the state is doing the work of finishing the thoughts of these great men. The BJP is out to destroy democracy and Constitution, but we are ready to answer them in any way we can," said Patole.
"Since BJP has no competent candidates anymore, they are stealing and forcing leaders from other parties to join them. Two BJP activists, Enforcement Directorate and CBI have also started working on this," he alleged.
Alleging that BJP has now become the Modi family, the MPCC chief claimed that they are no longer confident of winning.
"It is doubtful whether a national leader like Nitin Gadkari will be renominated. The name of such national leaders should have been in the first list of BJP, but it has not been done," he noted.
Patole further said that the Congress has a capable candidate for Nagpur and this year, they will hoist the flag following electoral win and the party will also contest the Sangli seat, he added.
