India sends 442-tonne food aid to Myanmar following Earthquake crisis
India continued to show solidarity with the Myanmar government to tackle the crisis following the severe earthquake that hit the region by sending 442 tonnes of food aid to the neighbouring nation as a part of humanitarian aid.

Sharing details, the Indian Embassy in Myanmar wrote on X: "Meeting needs of affected people. A large 442 T consignment of food aid (rice, cooking oil, noodles & biscuits) carried by @indiannavy landing ship tank INS Gharial arrived today at Thilawa Port & was handed over by @AmbAbhayThakur to CM Yangon U Soe Thein & team.#OperationBrahma."

The aid was sent as a part of Operation Brahma.
The operation was launched by the Indian government after 7.7-magnitude earthquake on March 28 left widespread damage and destruction in Myanmar.
Modi discusses quake issue with Myanmar leader
Indian PM Narendra Modi on Friday met Myanmar's Junta Leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing when he condoled the loss of lives in the deadly earthquake that hit the nation last week.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok.
During the meeting, Modi reassured India’s assistance to sisters and brothers of Myanmar in this critical time.
"Both leaders discussed bilateral relations between India and Myanmar, particularly in sectors like connectivity, capacity building, infrastructure development and more,"read the statement issued by the Indian government.
After the meeting, Modi posted on X: "I had a separate meeting with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand. I reiterated my condolences for the loss of lives and property due to the severe earthquake. India is doing everything possible to help our brothers and sisters in Myanmar in this difficult time."
