India test-fires Agni-5 missile with MIRV tech, PM Narendra Modi praises DRDO scientists

Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) scientists for conducting the successful maiden flight test of the indigenously developed Agni-5 missile.
The missile is aided by Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.
This will ensure that a single missile can deploy multiple warheads at different locations, reported Hindustan Times.
With the test of Mission Divyastra, India has joined a list of elite nations which have the Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.
Sources told India Today that this cutting-edge system features indigenous avionics systems and high-precision sensor packages, ensuring the re-entry vehicles precisely hit their target points.
