Jammu and Kashmir: Encounter rages up in outskirts, 2 to 3 terrorists holed up
Jammu: A fierce gunfight broke out between a group of terrorists and the security forces early morning near Sidhra area here in the city outskirts.
Police said that on specific inputs about the presence of terrorists, likely 2 to 3, cordon and search operation was launched by joint team of security forces in Sidhra area.
"Hiding terrorists fired upon forces which was retaliated and the encounter triggered," police added.
"The firing is in progress and more details are awaited," they said.
Traffic on Sidhra-Narwal bye pass is however, suspended.
