Jammu and Kashmir: JeM 'hybrid terrorist' arrested in Pulwama
Security forces arrested a “hybrid terrorist” of Jash-e-Muhammad (JeM) and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from his possession in Jammu Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said on Sunday.
Police identified the “hybrid terrorist” as Rohail Abdullah, a resident of Nully Poshwari Shopian, who was missing from his home since December 8, 2023, was arrested from Naina Batapora.
The operation is a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the region, police said.
During the arrest, “the security forces recovered Ak 56 Rifle 1 , Magazine AK 56 2 , AK Ammunition 60 rounds , Chinese grenade 5 , Pistol glock 1, Pistol magazine 1 & Pistol live ammunition 26 rounds from the terrorist's possession”, they said and added “the recovery has undoubtedly prevented potential acts of violence and ensured the safety of innocent civilians”.
Police are conducting further investigations into the activities of the arrested terrorist.
This is an essential step towards dismantling the terrorist (s) network and ensuring the long-term safety of the region, police said.
