Jammu and Kashmir police recover extortionist with two toy pistols in Pulwama
Police on Tuesday arrested an alleged extortionist and recovered two toy pistols from his possession in Jammu Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police said that it received information through reliable sources that some persons in the jurisdiction of Rajpora Pulwama were extorting money from the general public by deceitful means through criminal intimidation.
"During the investigation one person identified as Andleeb Ahmad Mir a resident of Rajpora was arrested and two toy Pistols used for the crime have been recovered from his possession," police said.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered and an investigation set into motion.
Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
Police also appealed to the general public to be aware that such miscreants who are using unjust terror to do extortions and create a panic atmosphere should be immediately identified and informed to police.
