Jammu and Kashmir: Two 'hybrid' militants involved in attack on YouTuber arrested
Srinagar: J&K Police have arrested two 'hybrid ' militants of "The Resistance Front" who were allegedly involved in attack on a YouTuber in Shopian district of south Kashmir, officials said.
In December last year, a YouTuber from Shopian escaped a murder attempt by the militants.
The YouTuber claimed that he was fired upon by a militant and escaped miraculously.
Police later constituted a Special Investigation Team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police headquarters Shopian to probe the case.
"During the course of investigation, on the basis of oral, circumstantial and technical evidences, number of suspects were rounded up. During questioning, two suspects identified as Suhaib Reyaz son of Reyaz Ahmad Mir and Anayat Ullah Iqbal son of Mohmmad Iqbal Wani, both residents of Saidapora Payeen admitted their involvement in the terror attack," a police statement said. "It also came to fore that duo were working as hybrid terrorists of proscribed terror outfit TRF."
Police said on their disclosure, the weapon of offence viz a pistol along with its magazine and five pistol rounds besides, an IED was recovered by a joint party of Police and 44RR in the orchards of village Saidapora Payeen Shopian.
