Jammu temples hosts religious functions to mark consecration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya
Amidst the chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, the temples in Jammu on Monday turned ‘Ram Mai’ with religious functions, jhankis and recitation of bhajans held to celebrate the Ram Lalla consecration at Ayodhya Temple.
Thousands of people since morning visited the temples in the city since the main function was held at the historic Shri Raghunath Temple wherein three-day religious ‘akhand path’ programme came to an end with consecration ceremony.
The event was organised by the Dharmarth Trust.
The devotees chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, offered prayers at the temples, which were beautifully decorated and illuminated with saffron and golden yellow lights.
A Diwali-like festivity atmosphere gripped Jammu and Kashmir during the Ram Lalla ‘Consecration’ ceremony.
The live screening of the ceremony was organized at various temples and markets of Jammu city.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha greeted the people on the occasion.
‘Akhand Path’ and ‘bhajan saandhya’ of Ramayana were held at Raghunath temple that concluded this morning.
However, the live telecast of the consecration ceremony was shown by LEDs installed in Sanjay Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, WareHouse, Raghunath Temple, Shiv Mandir Rehari, Agarwal Sabha and J&K Brahmin Sabha areas.
Community kitchens (lanagars) were also organised to serve ‘prasad’ to the people.
