Kashmir: One terrorist killed, another likely injured in ensuing Rajouri gunfight
Jammu/UNI: The Army on Saturday said that one terrorist has been neutralised while another is likely to be injured in an ensuing gunfight in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"In the ongoing joint operation in Kandi Forest of Rajouri sector by Indian Army in coordination with police and CRPF this morning at around 0700 hours the cordon while closing in spotted and pinned down the terrorists," said the Army spokesman.
He said that in the ensuing gunbattle, one terrorist has been neutralised and another is likely to be injured.
As per sources, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh may visit the Rajouri encounter site.
The gunfight between trapped terrorists and security forces resumed late midnight.
Northern Command Army Commander, Lieutenant General, Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday morning reviewed the operational situation at ground zero on the 'Operation Trinetra'.
Army spokesman said that Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi at Ground Zero, reviewed the operational situation on the ongoing operations at Kandi in Rajouri where contact was re-established with terrorists.
He was briefed on all aspects of the operations by ground commanders, he added.
Earlier, he said that contact again was established with terrorists at 0115 hours and firing started.

Five soldiers got martyred including one from Akhnoor area of Jammu and one Major rank officer sustained injuries in an ensuing gunfight on Friday.
