Lightning strikes farmer while talking on phone; dies

Shreepal (50) had gone to his farmland to do some work. He was talking on the phone, when lightning struck him, after which he collapsed, India Today reported.

His family rushed to the spot and brought the body home.

Afterwards, the police arrived at the residence of the deceased individual and took the body for postmortem examination.

Officials from the revenue department also visited the family and provided assurances of financial support.
