Love Jihad: Girl dies under mysterious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh, 2 detained
Shahjahanpur: A pregnant girl allegedly victim of 'love jihad' died under mysterious circumstances at the medical college in Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Sunday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) said that Seema Gautam, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri district, was working in Shroff charitable hospital from the last one and a half years.
"Late on Saturday night a youth named Naved along with his accomplice brought Seema to the medical college where he mentioned her name as Zoya Siddiqui," he said.
He said that when Naved attempted to leave the premises after Seem was declared dead by the doctors, he and his accomplice were nabbed by the people present on the spot on the basis of suspicion.
The ASP said that the deceased brother has given a complaint that Naved sexually exploited his sister and his accomplices a video of the incident.
"Seema's brother has alleged that since then Naved was pressurising his sister to convert. He has claimed that when Seema told her family members about the incident Naved poisoned her," he said.
He said that Naved and his accomplice have been taken into custody and were being questioned by the police.
