Maharashtra: Poster mocking Uddhav Thackeray put up in Eknath Shinde's stronghold Thane
Mumbai/IBNS: The poster showing a mockery of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray was put up in Maharashtra's Thane, which is a stronghold of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, media reports said.
The poster shows Uddhav bowing down before Congress top leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and National Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar.
The poster was put up after Uddhav Thackeray, a former Chief Minister of the state, recently went to Delhi to hold a meeting with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to discuss the strategy of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.
Uddhav is scheduled to address a press conference in Thane at 5 pm.
Uddhav's Shiv Sena (UBT), Pawar's NCP (SP) and Congress handed over a big blow to the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), NCP (Ajit Pawar) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led ruling coalition in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which were held last summer.
The ruling NDA suffered a jolt in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha polls as their tally of seats tanked to 17 of 48 seats.
Out of 17, the NCP won only 1 while the BJP bagged 9 and Shiv Sena 7.
