Mamata Banerjee pledges to uproot BJP from power in upcoming Lok Sabha polls
Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday slammed the BJP-led central government for its "anti-people policies" and said Trinamool Congress will uproot it from power as it did to the CPI(M) led Left Front government in West Bengal.
"We removed the CPI(M) from power when It was considered impossible and now our fight Is to remove BJP from Delhi,” Banerjee told a gathering while addressing the TMC's student wing's foundation day celebration here.
She claimed that the corruption had spread to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and there were no central teams probing the corruption in the BJP-ruled states.
"I urge everyone to fight like lions and with our heads held high. The BJP might have the money as they have booked all the hotels in Dhupguri (north Bengal) prior to the scheduled assembly bye-elections to ensure no hotels are left for others," Banerjee pointed out.
"They have also booked all the helicopters ahead of the Lok Sabha elections so that no other political party can utilise those facilities," the TMC supremo said.
"They have muzzled the free press. Their only goal is to damage others and manage the BJP’s image," she said.
The chief minister also warned stern action against those who raised slogans "Goli Maro".
"Strict instructions to the police to arrest those raising goli maro slogans," she warned.
"This is not Delhi or Uttar Pradesh," the CM reminded those who have allegedly raised such slogans.
