Muslim voters' relevance crucial in Lok Sabha elections, says Tahreek Muslim Shabban president Mushtaq Mallik
Mushtaq Mallik, President of Tahreek Muslim Shabban and Telangana Muslim JAC, emphasized the importance of minority community, particularly Muslim, voters retaining their significance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections despite alleged neglect from mainstream political parties like Congress and BRS.
In a media statement on Friday, Mallik criticized the Congress party for failing to uphold the interests of minorities despite receiving support from leading Muslim organizations during Assembly elections. He accused Congress of sidelining Muslim leadership and failing to ensure their socio-economic, educational, and political empowerment.
Mallik also condemned Congress for not inducting a Muslim minister into the cabinet and for neglecting Muslim candidates in MLA elections. He criticized Congress for denying Muslim leaders key positions and compared their actions to BJP's exclusionary practices.
Expressing concern over the diminishing representation of Muslim leaders in major parties, Mallik warned Congress against taking Muslim voters for granted and urged them to rectify their approach before the upcoming elections. He stressed the need for parties to address the grievances of Muslim voters and not undermine their importance in the political landscape.
Mallik stated that Muslim organizations would decide on their future course of action in response to the parties' attitudes towards Muslim leadership and voters.
