New Delhi: Several members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) forcefully entered the head office of the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Delhi and locked it from the inside to protest the alleged irregularities in the NEET medical entrance examinations.

Protesters, carrying chains and locks, stormed the NTA office in Delhi's Okhla.

Visuals from outside the NTA office showed a huge crowd of NSUI workers raising slogans like "NTA band karo (shut NTA)" and "NTA murdabad (down with NTA)".

Immediately after the incident was reported, police and security forces arrived at the testing agency office and began dispersing the gathered crowd.

Meanwhile, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) held a demonstration near Jantar Mantar, protesting the alleged rigging of the NEET UG exam.

Several IYC members gathered at Jantar Mantar, raising slogans and carrying placards.

These protests occurred amid ongoing controversy over alleged irregularities and paper leak charges against the NTA, which conducted the NEET-UG exam on May 5 at 4,750 centers, with around 24 lakh candidates participating.

The results, initially scheduled for June 14, were announced on June 4 due to the early completion of answer sheet evaluations.

As many as 67 students obtained a perfect score of 720, an unprecedented event in NTA history.

Further, six of these top scorers were from a single center in Faridabad, Haryana, raising suspicions of irregularities.

Earlier in the day, the CBI made its first arrests in the NEET-UG paper leak case, detaining two individuals from Patna.

According to officials from the investigation agency, the arrested individuals, identified as Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar, allegedly provided secure accommodation for the aspirants before the examination, where they were given leaked papers and answer keys.

So far, the CBI has registered six FIRs in the case. The demand for a CBI probe was raised by agitating students.

The NEET-UG, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is an entrance exam for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.
