No outsider was involved, say cops on triple murder in Kolkata's Tangra
Kolkata/IBNS: Two women and a teenage girl in Kolkata's Tangra were murdered by two of their family members, who survived a car crash in a chain of events which took place last week.

Kolkata Commissioner of Police Manoj Verma on Tuesday said no outsider was involved in the murder of three, whose lifeless bodies were discovered by cops in the wee hours of last Wednesday.
The lifeless bodies were discovered after a sedan- carrying 48-year-old Prasun Dey, 44-year-old Pranay Dey and his son Pratip Dey (14) - crashed into a pillar at 100 km/hr near Avishikta on EM Bypass.
The crash started appearing not merely a remote accident when Pranay told cops that there were three women from his family lying dead at his Tangra house.
Pranay claimed all six family members consumed sedative-laced dessert to die while the three men took the ride to commit suicide.
Police rushed to the Tangra house, broke open the main door and discovered the three lifeless bodies in three different rooms.
Romi and Sudeshna - the two older women - were found with throat and wrist injuries while Priyamvada - the younger one - was frothing from her mouth and also had injury marks.
Police said the three were murdered by the two brothers, Prasun Dey and Pranay Dey, who were the husbands of Romi and Sudeshna respectively.
The three women carrying injuries exactly mirrored Pranay's claims as the man told cops some of his family members had inflicted wounds on themselves as well.
Pratip, who was seated in the backseat of the car, also had an injury mark on his wrist.
Cops suspect the Deys attempted suicide being unable to recover from the Covid period financial losses in their leather and goods manufacturing and exports.
Deys' neighbours said the family have always refrained from socialising in the area but maintained a respectable lifestyle.
