No permission for Holi in AMU, Hindu students plan to write to PM Modi
Aligarh/IBNS: The Hindu students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) are set to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Holi celebrations are not allowed in the Aligarh Muslim University, media reports said.

The Hindu students were reportedly denied permission to organise Holi in the Non-Resident Students' Centre (NRSC) Club on March 9.
LLM student Akhil Kaushal approached the proctor and vice-chancellor for permission for Holi Milan.
"AMU is a central university, which PM Modi himself has called Mini India. When Iftar parties, processions of Muharrum, Chehlum and Eid Miladunnabi are taken out aside from South Indian festivals, then why is the Holi Milan event not being allowed?
"It is religious discrimination, and the university administration should adopt the same approach towards the festivals of all religions," Kaushal said as quoted by ETV Bharat.
Professor Mohammad Wasim Ali, who is the proctor, said there was no ban on Holi.
Ali claimed students play it on the campus every year.
"No permission is needed for this, and the matter is being unnecessarily blown out of proportion," he said as quoted by ETV Bharat.
But the students are firm that they will raise the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We will raise this issue with PM Modi and the Ministry of Education. If other religious festivals are granted permission at the university level, then Holi Milan Samaroh should also be allowed to be celebrated," Kaushal said.
