Number of terrorists living in Pakistan is more than in any part of the world: Azad

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said the number of terrorists living in Pakistan is probably more than the terrorists residing in other parts of the world.

Azad is part of the all-party Indian delegation that is visiting Bahrain.

He expressed happiness that people from different countries are residing peacefully in Bahrain.

"I am happy to see that it (Bahrain) looks like mini India. The people from every religion live here," Azad told ANI news agency.

He further said, "Pakistan was formed on the basis of religion. However, eastern Pakistan (Bangladesh) and western Pakistan were not able to stay united."

Azad said in contrast to Pakistan, people in India, who belong to different religions, stay united.

He told the news agency: "If we see, probably the number of terrorists that are living in Pakistan is more than the number of terrorists residing all over the world."

Several Indian all-party delegations are travelling to several nations to brief them about the recent April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and the broader fight against cross-border terrorism.

Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor was a fierce military operation launched by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 tourists who were enjoying their vacation at Baisaran Valley, which is referred to as India's Switzerland.

The operation was aimed at dismantling terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

After the Pakistan Army again targeted Indian civilians and resorted to cross-border firing, the Indian Armed Forces retaliated, destroying defence systems of the hostile neighbour. On May 10, both countries agreed to a ceasefire agreement after four days of escalation.
