New Delhi/IBNS/UNI: A Delhi court Thursday extended the police custody of four people arrested in connection with the Parliament security breach incident by another 15 days.

The court after hearing the plea of the police as well as the defence lawyers, extended the police custody of the accused till Jan 5.

Following the expiry of the 7-day police custody of the four accused - Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Neelam Verma, and Amol Shinde - the Delhi Police produced them before the court during the day.

All four were earlier arrested under the Anti-terror Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) as well as under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Police submitted before the court that an in-depth investigation was required to unearth the larger conspiracy behind their acts and urged for 15-day police custody of all the accused.

The police counsel submitted that the investigation was at a crucial stage and the accused needed to be taken to different places to find out the people behind them.

Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur after hearing the submissions passed an order to fifteen days police custody of the arrested accused persons.

In this matter, Delhi Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with an intent to cause riot), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 452 (trespass), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servants from discharge of his duty) defined under Indian Penal Code(IPC) and Sections 16 and 18 of UAPA against the accused persons.
