People who vote for money, saree, liquor will be born as animals in next life: Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA warns voters

Bhopal/IBNS: Former Madhya Pradesh minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Usha Thakur has warned voters, who vote for money, saree, liquor even after availing the beneficiary schemes, of rebirth as animals in the next life.
Thakur claimed this asserting she has a direct connection with God.
Appealing to the voters to protect democracy, Thakur said, "Thousands of rupees come into the accounts of every beneficiary through schemes like Ladli Behna Yojana and Kisan Samman Nidhi made by the BJP government. Even after that, if votes are sold for Rs. 1,000-500, then it's a matter of shame for humans."
"Those who became neutral after taking money, saree, glass, and liquor, write it down in your diary that they are definitely going to become camels, sheep, goats, dogs and cats in the next birth. Those who will sell democracy are going to become these only. Write this down. I have a direct conversation with God, believe me."
Thakur also said the voters' support should be exclusive to the BJP, which she claims to be serving the national, religious and cultural interests.
In response to his remarks, Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesperson Mrinal Pant said Thakur's comment is a reflection of his both "conservative thinking" and the conflicts within the BJP in Mhow, reported The Times of India.
In 2023, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had returned to power in Madhya Pradesh defying the exit polls that had predicted a tight race. A much of the credits were given to erstwhile Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Ladli Behna Yojana, a monthly financial assistance to women.
Under this scheme, eligible women receive ₹1,250 per month directly in their bank accounts.
In April 2025, the 23rd installment amounting to ₹1,552.38 crore was distributed to 1.27 crore women.
