Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow on Tuesday morning riding on a decorated open-roof vehicle as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha election campaign in Kerala to support C Krishnakumar, the NDA candidate in Palakkad Lok Sabha Constituency, for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Narendra Modi landed at Mercy College ground in a helicopter from Coimbatore at 1025 hrs, and BJP leaders led by Kerala Prabhari Prakash Javedkar, State President K Surendran, and Palakkad Municipal Chairman E Krishnakumar gave a rousing welcome to him at Mercy College ground.
After this function, Narendra Modi reached Kottamaidhan-Anchuvilakku by road with a convoy of SPG and police security.
The roadshow commenced from Kottamaidhan-Anchuvilkku at 1045 hrs by carrying the NDA candidates C KrishnaKumar (Palakkad), Nivedhitha Subramanyan (Malappuram candidate), and State President K Surendran in an open vehicle.
The PM waved hands towards the people, who thronged on both sides of the road, and the road show concluded at 1115 hrs near the Head Post office in the town.
Thousands of BJP workers, including women and children, lined both sides of the road, without considering the scorching heat of 39 degrees reported in the district, to see a glimpse of their beloved leader, and they welcomed him by showering flowers and chanting slogans across the one-kilometre-long road show.
This is Modi's first visit to Kerala after the election was announced by the Election Commissioner and his fifth visit to Kerala within a span of three months.
After the road show, Prime Minister left for Salem in Tamil Nadu by helicopter to attend the next election campaign.
