PM Modi pays homage to Kovai 1998 serial blast victims, says bombings can never be forgotten
Coimbatore/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the 1998 serial bomb blast victims in this Textile city, saying it could never be forgotten and that Tamil Nadu will surprise everyone with the outcome of the Lok Sabha poll results as BJP was emerging as a very strong force across the state.
"The 1998 Coimbatore terror bombings can never be forgotten. While in the city, paid homage to those we lost in those bombings", Modi posted in X.
It may be recalled that 58 people were killed in the serial bomb blasts 26 years ago on February 14, 1998, in the city, which also left more than 200 injured.
He also said the people of the State are in no mood to support the ruling DMK any longer as the people of Coimbatore have won him over.
In a social media post, after paying homage to the victims, he said "the people of Coimbatore have won me over! The roadshow (held last evening) will be remembered for years and years to come."
"What was special was the participation of people from all walks of life. These blessings are greatly cherished," he added.
Modi wrote "Tamil Nadu is going to surprise everyone with the results (in the coming Lok Sabha elections)."
"Our Party (the BJP) is emerging as a very strong force across the state," he said.
"The people are in no mood to support the DMK any longer," he added.
