Prashant Kishor to launch Jan Suraaj as political party on Oct 2, faceoff with Nitish Kumar in 2025 Bihar polls
Patna/IBNS: Former politician strategist Prashant Kishor is set to launch his political party, Jan Suraaj, on October 2 marking the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Kishor had started the campaign Jan Suraaj and as a part of it, he travelled extensively across Bihar prepping up for his political venture.
Now, the former strategist is set to register Jan Suraaj as an official political party.
"As stated earlier, Jan Suraaj will become a political party on October 2 and contest next year's assembly polls. Other details, such as party leadership, will be decided in due course," Kishor said as quoted by Mint.
Kishor, who was the founder of Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC), had earlier announced he would contest the Bihar assembly elections in 2025.
Kishor said his party will contest in all 243 seats in one of the most populous states in the country.
Kishor, who shot to fame assisting then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2012-2014 to become the Prime Minister, has worked with several top politicians in the country.
After working for Modi, Kishor signed up with several opposition leaders including Captain Amarinder Singh, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The former strategist had successfully helped the Grand Alliance, spearheaded by Nitish Kumar, to defeat Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2025.
Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party's landslide win in 2020 Delhi polls, Mamata Banerjee's stormy return to power in West Bengal in 2021 against a spirited BJP have remained the top moments of Kishor's illustrious career as a strategist.
Kishor concentrated on Bihar launching his campaign after his talks with the Congress failed post 2021.
