Rahul Gandhi's appeasement tactics to woo voters won't work: Anurag Thakur
Hamirpur: Union minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday accused Rahul Gandhi of minority appeasement to get their votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
However, this gimmick would not help the Congress party, he told reporters here today.
Thakur was in Hamirpur to speak to the media about the Central government’s achievements in the last nine years.
In a press conference, he asserted that the people will vote for PM Modi in the 2024 elections to keep the country safe.
Anurag Thakur said in the last nine years, the Central government has taken many steps for the welfare of the farmers.
During the UPA regime, the farmers faced several difficulties to get fertilizers. At that time shortage of fertilizer was often discussed in the parliament, he added.
In the last nine years, the fertilizer supply has been adequate and the Centre has also ensured to keep the prices steady.
Slamming Rahul Gandhi for his statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led Centre, Thakur said the Congress leader bore the brunt of his own actions.
He was removed from the Lok Sabha following his conviction by a court in the 'Modi' surname case after he failed to apologise to the OBC people for his derogatory remarks.
About forming alliances with other political parties, Thakur said alliances are always formed in a democracy and good alliances are always in the interest of the nation.
Taking a jibe at the Opposition’s attempts to form a pre-poll alliance, Thakur said Opposition’s unity has several weak links and would fall like a pack of cards or like the bridge in Bihar that collapsed a few days ago.
He pointed out that some political parties have already refused to be part of that alliance.
Anurag Thakur claimed that the people will ensure Narendra Modi’s win in the 2024 elections as they are aware of how India progressed under Modi's rule while maintaining self-respect despite grave economic and other challenges.
