Imphal/IBNS: A second Manipur Police commando has died amid renewed violence in Manipur's Moreh, a small but important trading town located a few hundred metres from the Myanmar border.
Two other commandos, both critically injured, have been airlifted to the state capital Imphal for treatment.
The deceased commando has been identified as Takhellambam Saileshwore.
Earlier in the day, another commando identified as Somorjit was killed, while one was seriously injured in a series of attacks at Moreh town.
Heavily armed Kuki miscreants launched attacks at various security posts at Moreh on Wednesday morning.
The Kuki miscreants used rocket-propelled grenades, sniper rifles, and heavy machinery, which destroyed several buildings occupied by security personnel.
Some personnel of the Assam Rifles stationed at Moreh were also stopped from moving around at Moreh by the armed miscreants.
