She herself invited trouble: Allahabad High Court blames victim granting bail to rape accused
Allahabad/IBNS: The Allahabad High Court has blamed the woman who has alleged she was raped by a man whom she had met at a bar in New Delhi last year, media reports said.

Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh made the remark while granting bail to the accused who was arrested on December 11, 2024.
The court said as quoted by Bar and Bench, "This Court is of the view that even if the allegation of the victim is accepted as true, then it can also be concluded that she herself invited trouble and was also responsible for the same.
"Similar stand has been taken by the victim in her statement. In her medical examination, her hymen was found torn but doctor did not give any opinion about the sexual assault."
"It can also be concluded that she herself invited trouble and was also responsible for the same," said Justice Singh as quoted by the media.
The complainant, a postgraduate student, visited a bar in Delhi's Hauz Khas with three female friends and met a few male acquaintances at the pub.
The victim, who is a student of a Noida-based university, said in her complaint that she was intoxicated and stayed at the bar till 3 pm.
She claimed the accused, who was getting close to her, kept on asking her to go with him.
Upon insistence, as the victim claimed, she agreed to go to the accused's place to rest but the man allegedly took her to relative's flat in Gurgaon and raped her.
In his bail plea, the accused said the woman had agreed to go to his place and rest. He denied taking her to the relative's place and rejected the allegation of raping her twice.
The accused claimed the two had consensual sex and it was not a case of rape.
