TMC fighting for its survival, BJP winning maximum seats in Bengal: PM Modi
New Delhi/Kolkata/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has predicted that his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to win the highest number of seats in West Bengal, throwing out a challenge to the powerful regional party Trinamool Congress (TMC), in the Lok Sabha elections.
In an interview with ANI, Modi said, "TMC party is fighting for survival in the Bengal elections. This time, the best-performing state in India is going to be West Bengal. BJP is getting maximum success in West Bengal."
"TMC party is fighting for its existence in the Bengal elections. In the last Assembly elections, we were 3 and the people of Bengal took us to 80 (seats), we got a huge majority in the last Lok Sabha elections. BJP workers are being put in jails before the elections. Despite all these atrocities, more people are voting and the number of votes is also increasing."
Responding to the Calcutta High Court's decision to cancel the OBC certificates issued by the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal after 2010, Modi said, "When the High Court's judgment came, it became clear that such a big fraud was taking place. But what is even more unfortunate is that for vote bank politics, now they are also abusing the judiciary...
"This situation cannot be acceptable under any circumstances."
