Two IAF pilots killed as Su-30MKI fighter jet crashes in Assam
Dispur/IBNS: Two pilots of the Indian Air Force were killed after a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed in Karbi Anglong district of Assam, about 60 kilometres from Jorhat, media reports said.
Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar sustained fatal injuries in the crash, which occurred during a training mission.
“All personnel of the Indian Air Force express sincere condolences and stand firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief,” the IAF said in a post on X, acknowledging the casualties.

The aircraft had taken off from the airbase in Jorhat on Thursday evening but soon lost contact with ground control.
According to the IAF, the fighter jet lost contact with the ground at around 7:42 pm.
