USA: Three members of Indian-origin family die in road mishap in Texas
At least three members of an Indian-origin family have died in a car crash in the US city of Texas, media reports said.
The deceased were identified as Arvind Mani, 45, his wife Pradeepa Arvind, 40, and their child Andril Arvind, 17.
The car crash took place when a 2004 Cadillac, travelling southbound, experienced a rear tyre blowout, causing it to lose control and drift into oncoming traffic, reported India Today.
The Cadillac then collided head-on with a Kia Telluride and reportedly it was being driven by Mani when the mishap occurred.
The family was on its way to the University of Texas in Dallas when the tragedy occurred.
A GoFundMe page created gave details about the incident and said the couple's other child, Adiryan Arvind, who was not part of the trip, is now without a family member.
"Adiryan who just started 9th grade today, was unable to join them on the trip, and now he is left without his family. This young boy, with so many dreams and aspirations, needs our help for funeral, legal, and ongoing care including educational expenses. This will help him to navigate the difficult road ahead along with his uncle’s family living in Austin," read the page.
As per the page, the accident occurred on August 14.
