The footage shows Rakshit Chaurasia, who was driving the car at the time of the crash, and one of his friends arrived at the house on a scooter.

Rakshit and his friend who was in the car at the time of the crash were also spotted in the footage.

The accused was seen drinking from a bottle but the content was not clear.

The car involved in the crash was also spotted in the footage.

The accident, which has been captured in the CCTV, took place near Amrapali Chaar Rasta in Gujarat's Vadodara.

The car rammed into a two-wheeler after losing control and hit a number of people on the way.

The crash caused an immediate death of one woman, who has been identified as Hemaliben Patel. Three to four others were seriously injured.

As per the video footage, the accused, who was wearing a black T-shirt, got out of the car in a drunken state and screamed "another round, another round!" and chanted Hindu mantra Om Namah Shivay.

'Airbag blocked my view'

Rakshit told police he was returning from Holika Dahan (a bonfire lit on the eve of Hindu festival Holi) when the incident happened.

He said he was returning after dropping a friend on their way back.

"We were going ahead of a scooty, we were turning right and there was a pothole on the road. There was a scooty and a car parked near the right turn. Our car touched the scooter and the airbags opened. After that I couldn't tell where the car went.

"I was told that one woman has died and a few have sustained injuries. I want to meet the family of the victims, it is my fault and whatever they want should happen," the accused said as quoted by NDTV.

Though it was reported that Rakshit was taken into custody in an intoxicated state, the accused claimed he was not drunk but had consumed Bhaang (an edible preparation made from the leaves of the cannabis plant).
