Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday said one of the party MLAs was injured as violence broke out in Hooghly district of West Bengal as the political outfit took out a procession on Ram Navami.

Party's West Bengal Chief Sukanta Majumdar identified the injured MLA as  Biman Ghosh.

Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar tweeted targeting the Trinamool Congress-led government of the state: "Ram Navami Shobha yatra attacked in Hooghly. The reason is simple and clear. Mamata Benerjee hates Hindus."

Just see the language and attitude of the goons who are attacking people misusing the name of Lord Ram. This vdo is from Chinsura. This was a planned incident. After the day of Ramnavami, how can there be a celebration after 72 hours? All these are plots of provocation. pic.twitter.com/Ewb4tZhzBS
