With the appointment, Sharmila will now take on her older brother and Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is the chief of her party YSRCP, politically.
Sharmila, who has recently joined the Congress, has reportedly expressed her willingness to work at any position for the party.
She has recently merged her YSR Telangana Party with the Congress in presence of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.
Andhra Pradesh will go to polls along with the Lok Sabha elections in summer this year.
