Speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the 32-year-old actress—known for her wide-ranging roles across genres—revealed the one space she hasn’t explored yet.
“I want to do a kids’ film — happy, fantasy, comedy. Whatever it is, but a kids’ film,” she said. “I don’t know why, but I need to be in a film that my daughter can see.”

During the interaction, held in front of a packed audience, Alia was also asked to pick a role that stayed with her emotionally the longest. She named Gangubai Kathiawadi and Highway as the two performances closest to her heart.
Alia won her maiden National Award for Best Actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi, in which she portrayed brothel owner Gangubai.
On the work front, Alia is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which reunites her on screen with husband Ranbir Kapoor and her Raazi co-star Vicky Kaushal.
Her next release, however, will be the action-spy film Alpha, where she stars alongside Sharvari. Initially slated for a Christmas release, the Shiv Rawail directorial has now been pushed to April 17, 2026.
